Minerals from Nastätten-Miehlen-Oelsberg

 


The location Nastätten-Miehlen-Oelsberg  is a litharenite (Grauwacke)
quarry and is situated in the Westtaunus,
near the town and villages Nastätten-Miehlen-Oelsberg, between Wiesbaden and Koblenz.
In the literature this location is also known as Beck quarry, Miehlen,
although it belongs to Oelsberg.

Mined were Devonian litharenite, in particular for the gravel production.

For the collector of value are the following minerals:

quartz, albite

Mineralogically important are big quartz-cluster, who are built as rock crystals 
with chloritee inclusions or as floaters.
